The average is the same as the mean.

Add all the sales per day and divide by the number of days.

225+188+208+241+222+320 = 1404

1404÷ 6 = 234

Check: Reverse calculation

234 x6 = 1404

The range(R) is the difference between the highest and lowest number.

325 - 175 = 150

Substitute the values into the formula

V =100R/M

R = 150 and M is the mean = 250

V = 100x150/250 = 60

He is incorrect V is 60%

Read the information carefully

160 cups of tea are sold

The ratio of coffee to tea is 3 : 2

Divide 160 by 2 to find one part

160÷2 = 80

So the number of cups of coffee sold is 3 x 80 = 240

Work out sales from coffee 240 x £2.2 = £528

Work out the sales from tea 160 x 1.80 = £288

Total sales = 528 + 288 = £816

Profit = 1/3 of total sales

816 ÷ 3 = £272

find the area of the front 3x2.5 = 7.5

This will be the same as the back so multiply by 2 = 15m2

Find the area of the side = 7.4 x 2.5 = 18.5m2

The roof and floor are not included so there will be 2 sides with this surface area. 2x18.5 = 37m2

Total area = 37 + 15 = 52m2

3/4 of this area will need bricks

Divide by 4 to find 1/4 and then multiply by 3 to find 3/4

52÷4 = 13 x 3= 30m2

1m2 needs 60 bricks so 30 m2 will need 30 x 60 = 2340 bricks

There are 360 bricks in each pack so he will need 2340÷360 = 6.5

Yes 7 packs will be enough

Ratio question

The ratio of cement, sand and lime to make 1.7 tonnes of dry mortar is

1 : 5 : 2

Add all parts of the ratio together to find the total number of parts

1+5+2 = 8

Divide 1.7 tonnes by 8 to find the value of 1 part

1.7 ÷ 8 =0.2125 record all the decimal places until the end

Lime is 2 parts of the ratio so the mass of lime is 2 x 0.2125 =0.425

Round to two dp (decimal places) = 0.43

The volume of a cuboid is l x b x w (Check no units need converting)

3 x 0.1 x 0.2 = 0.06 m3

1 m3 = 2500Kg

so 0.06 m3 = 0.06 x 2500 = 150Kg

Yes Joe is correct.
