- the result of a scientific revolution
- a significant change in the dominant theory within a scientific discipline
Objectivity
-when personal bias doesn’t influence the research process
Empirical method
-scientific approaches that are based on gathering evidence through direct observation and experience
Falsifiability
-the principle that a theory cannot be considered scientific unless there is a possibility it can be proved untrue/false
Replicability
- the extent to which scientific procedures and findings can be repeated by other researchers
- helps determine validity
Deduction
-the process of deriving new hypotheses from an existing theory
Theory
-a set of general laws or principles that can explain particular events or behaviours

-occurs through gathering evidence via direct observation (empirical method)
