FDX Procedures Flashcards
PW warm up time?
5 min
Or
No min warm up if shutdown is within 2 hours
CF 6 warm up time?
3 min
When may PROFILE be used?
LVL OFF ALT <= THR RED ALT.
When does THR change to blue?
Both engines reach TO thrust or 100 kts, whichever occurs first.
AutoThrottles are declutched
What does SRS mean?
Speed Reference System
What does SRS do?
FD commands a V2 + 10 Speed for 2 engine operation upto 18 degrees pitch
When does RWY appear on the FMA?
After pressing TOGA if a localizer for the runway is tuned. Yaw bar appears for steering commands to loc centerline.
When does RWY mode disengage?
30 ft; preselected mode re engages
Autothrottle off TO
Disconnect with either TDS
Auto throttles may be selected after gear retraction
Reset N1/EPR bugs to auto if in manual
When do the throttles reclutch?
When the gear is retracted.
FMA changes to P THR - profile
THR -nonprofile
100 feet above MDA, VS Non-prec
Lead the level off - Reduce VS 0
ALT.HLD May be used at MDA
Do not leave MDA until Adequate Vis Ref
Established at FAF altitude:
ALT.HLD maybe deselected
Allows VS to come alive
VS alive set MAP altitude
Pitch over quickly then reduce VS
Why Dive and Drive?
If Ceilings at MDA, to align with and see runaway sooner
When is AP mandatory?
Non-precision APPR CAT I coupled/autoland (RVR1800) CAT II CAT III Until suitable visual reference
Why CDA vs Dive and Drive?
APPR lights and RWY are easier to identify while descending 700-800 fpm on 3degree path
What is typical pitch attitude at cruise?
+1.5
What is typical pitch attitude during descent?
-2
What is typical pitch attitude during climb below 10,000?
+10
When are we restricted to 15 AOB?
When required by the flight manual - V2+10
All EOSIDS ARE BASED ON 15 AOP AND MGTOW

When do the Autoland Warning lights illuminate?
Excessive GS (1 •) or Loc Deviations (1/2 •) Long Flare RA altimeter differences GS or Loc transmitter failures AP Off warnings
Non-precision APPR
VNAV guidance requirements
• APPR retrieved from the navigation database
• flown in LOC or NAV
• Navaids tuned/identified/monitored by PM
(Procedure specified for Appr course/FAF/MA point)
• VPA is defined in the F-PLN display for Appr
(F-PLN page A associated w/rwy threshold waypoint)
