FCTM Flashcards
What is the sequence once a failure has occurred?
Memory/OEB
ECAM
QRH
What does LAND ASAP RED mean?
Land at nearest suitable airfield that a safe landing can be made
What does LAND ASAP AMBER mean?
Land at nearest suitable airfield
What happens if whilst running a procedure it disappears?
Stop the QRH or ECAM procedure
What are the 4 airbus golden rules?
FNC
Appropriate level of automation at all times
Understand the FMA
Take control if things do not go as expected
Systems:
What data creates the BIRD/FPV?
IRS, STATIC pressure
Systems:
When does the ATHR auto retard?
AUTOLAND only
Systems:
What happens if you get a TCAS in config 3 or full?
Perform a go around, you can keep AP/FD on
What is Alpha Lock?
Prevents slat retraction at high AoA or low speed. If lever is set to zero, the slats will retract automatically once out of the ALPHA LOCK condition
How is VAPP calculated in case of a failure?
VREF+Diff vref + APPROACH correction
What speeds can you fly legally in a hold?
ICAO - <14000 230KT
ICAO - >14000 240kts
ICAO - >20000 265kts
TIME - 1min <14000>1.5mins
Green Dot
Max speed written on chart
Explain ALERT HEIGHT
It is used for CAT 3 DUAL approaches. It exists below 100ft. Any failure affecting the fail operational system would still lead to a successful landing. Above this height the aircraft is FAIL PASSIVE
What happens from 1000ft to landing on an Autoland?
Below 1000ft, any failure affecting the FMA implies a go around
700ft - FMS frozen
400ft - FCU Frozen
350ft - LAND - Check ILS course
<200ft - Red Autoland light is armed
40ft - Flare
30ft Thrust goes to idle
10ft - Retard call-out
When does partial lift dumping occur?
When one gear touchdown and 1 reverser selected, spoilers partially deploy
When does GO Around function?
TOGA and Flaps not at zero
