Four authorization for non-lethal employment

A
  1. When there is reasonable belief that non-lethal force will not result in death or serious injury to the subject or others
  2. When there is reasonable belief that non-lethal force will be effective in controlling the situation
  3. When there is reasonable belief that non-lethal force will not result in the escalation of the situation to the point where deadly force would be required
  4. When verbal and visual warnings have not been effective in dealing with the danger or there is a reasonable belief that such warnings would be ineffective. Such warning need not be given, if there is reasonable belief that such warnings would subject protected personnel to additional risks
