What’s the purpose of Acq. Planning?
Ensure the Government meets it’s need in the most effective, economical, and timely manner.
Who creates the Acq. Plan?
It’s considered a program document but the team works together to create it.
Acq. Planning is required for all acquisitions above what two thresholds?
$50M for all years or $25M for any Fiscal Year.
When is a SASS recommended?
For all other acquisitions that don’t require a formal Acq. Plan.

Acquisitions with high risks or limited experience, acquisitions with award/incentive fees, acquisitions with history of protests or performance issues, acquisitions that use AFFARS 5315.3 Source Selection Procedures.

When is an Acquisition Strategy Panel (ASP) Required?
Required when formal AP is required.
What is an ASP?
Brief to your AA talking them through your Acq. Plan. **Can be waived by ASP Chairperson*
What is bundling?
When efforts that were previously performed or could be performed by small businesses, but bundling will make it unsuitable for award to a small business.
