PIC
pilot in command
Student Pilot Limitations
cannot act as PIC. can solo, can be a passenger of PIC, cannot carry passengers. cannot be compensated or fly in furtherance of business.
PIC reqs
Photo ID (government issued) FAA Medical (for student pilots, this doubles as a cert) Pilot Certificate and any endorsements
PPL limitations
cannot fly people or property for compensation or hire
cannot pay less than your “pro rata share”
PPL capabilities
- demonstrate an airplane to a potential buyer (must -have at least 200hrs)
- tow a glider IAW 61.69
- act as PIC in connection with a business if the flight is incidental to the business (AKA you can use it as a mode of transportation)
