Arthur Hour Scott (1895)
Son of Scott Paper Co. Founder Irvin Scott, and later it’s president. He is credited with inventing the paper towel and facial tissue. After his death in 1927, his father donated $85,000 to the establishment of a horticulture society at Swarthmore College in 1929 in Arthur’s name. He was a nationally renowned horticulturalist.
