Alumni Banquet
This is held each fall for brothers, pledges and alumni. Brothers present and receive awards at this event.
Formal Initiation
This is the culmination of the pledge process, typically held late in the semester
Holiday Party
Held before exams, this is a time to celebrate the holidays with brothers, significant others, and alumni. Occasionally a catered event.
Christmas Caroling
This is held after the last meeting of the fall semester, a chance for brothers to fill the campus with holiday cheer.
Pledge Class Project
This is a small house improvement project, organized and completed by the pledge class.
Red Cross Blood Drive
In conjunction with Red Cross, the Chapter organizes a yearly blood drive on campus by soliciting and signing up donors before the drive and by helping the operation on the day of the drive.
Pig Roast
This event is hosted at the lodge for brothers, pledges, alumni, family and friends of the fraternity in the spring.
Alumnus of the year award
Given by the undergraduate chapter to the alumnus who, in the chapter’s opinion, has made the most significant contribution to the welfare of the undergraduate chapter. A plaque listing past winners hangs in the foyer.
William F. Lee, Sr. ‘33 Service Award
Given by the alumni each year to the undergraduate junior or senior who, in the opinion of the alumni, has made the most significant contribution to the greater Swarthmore College community. It is presented at the alumni banquet and a plaque of past recipients hangs in the library
Dr. Christian B. Anfinsen ‘37 Scholarship Award
Given each year to the one or two juniors with the highest GPA’s
Herb Taylor Outstanding Pledge Award
Given each year by the brothers to the pledge who, in the chapter’s opinion, was the best pledge during the pledge period.
