What is social class diversity?
It is the income differences of families, which could lead to differences in family structure.
What is Cultural diversity?
The differences in cultural, ethnic and religious groups and the way the family is structured.
What is life stage diversity?
Depending on what stage of life a person is at, the family structure will differ. For example an older person who has widowed will live in a single person house hold compared to a new couple may cohabit together.
What is generational diversity?
The way older and younger generations may have different views on the way the family should be structured also views on marriage and divorce.
What does the new right perspective say about family diversity?
There view on family diversity is that it is bad for society and create many social problems such as higher crime rates and educational failure.
They believe that all families should have a family structure of the traditional nuclear family.
What is the nuclear family ?
A couple who is married with dependant children. Who also have a division of labour between the bread winner husband and the homemaker wife.
What is organisational Diversity?
The way the family organises the roles between men and women. For example one family could have joint conjugal roles or have 2 wage earners.
