Q

Explain class diversity

A

difference in MC and WC in terms of relationship between wife and husband, socialaisation and discipline

MC = more child-centered and take greater interest in school and pass on cultural advantages such as attitudes and values which assist their children in education however people argue WC they are still child-centered but material deprivation limits how much they can give them

Extended kinship are more important to UC to maintain wealth and privilege, the economic and political elite may use marriage and family connections to ensure social closure - keep those do not share their culture from becoming part of the elite

Q

What is the conclusion of postmodernism and diversity

A

no doubt nuclear family are still very common but the increasing no. of family types especially single-parent families are still very common which do indicate a slow but steady drift away from the nuclear family and demographic changes also shows that family life is not static and in a state of flux and change
