They see family as a positive thing for society
The nuclear family is the most beneficial to society and they look at the functions it provides for society and they say that it provides:
- reproduction- has means to keep the human race going
- Primary socialisation- the family teaches norms and values socialisation within the household
- economic and emotional support- the family gives financial support and emotional wellbeing
