additional money going to communal funds to support development socially and economically
benefits of fairtrade:
stable prices for producers
partnerships in decisions
empowerment of producers
improvement of sustainable environmental practices
problems of fairtrade:
profits are held in the country where products are purchased e.g in caffes
certification is an extra cost to farmers
not all standards are enforced
farmers must be educated to see the benefits
