What is fair trade?
It is a tool for development and is a strategy aimed at ending poverty in LEDCs.
What are the benefits of fair trade to the farmers?
Their quality of life should improve, as well as the long term prospects for their children.
What is trade?
It is the buying and selling of goods between countries.
Why does trade occur?
It occurs because no country is rich enough in raw materials and manufactured goods to be self-sufficient.
What is a commodity?
They are basic goods used everyday and includes things like oil, coffee and bananas.
Why is trade unfair on LEDCs?
LEDCs rely on exporting raw materials which are worth much less money than manufactured goods.
