One field was good..the adjacent field had the blight. Their was enough potatoes to feed everyone, but greed for high dollar profit selling overseas.

The green color on the flag represents the native people of Ireland (most of whom are Roman Catholic). The orange color represents the British supporters of William of Orange who settled in Northern Ireland in the 17th century (most of whom are Protestant).

Ironically Dublin was founded by the Vikings from the 10th century. Dublin was called the Pale. Everything beyond the pale was wild and savage. Thus even the English were safe in Dublin.

A

Against the English..lasted only 5 days. The Irish Wanted to become martyrs..Ireland loves their Martyrs. Leaders of this rebellion were taken to the Killmarian (?) jail in Dublin. Court marshaled..put against the wall and were shot.

Potato Famine?

A

The only ‘white’ country to ever starve to death. Colonialism. Distribution problem. Gallic word for that time means ‘the big hunger’.
•People had high rents for their land.
•they had to sell their crops and sheep and money then given to their English landlords in order to remain on ‘their’ land. So they grew potatoes for food and then the blights. 1845-1849.

•Dulla hon: headless horseman type
•Poo kah: mischievous creature..a cousin to the leprechaun.
•leprechaun is a cobbler to the fairies •changling:a fairy creature that has been swapped for a human. Would say of a ‘touched’ person they’re ‘away with the fairies’
•banshee: the scariest of them all. The Ban is the woman and Shee means Fairy. She screams and foretells of death. Your dontwant to hear her. Only the people whose names are ‘O’ or ‘Mac’ can hear her.
Long blonde hair and white dress. has a transparent face. In the north she has long blonde hair and has the face of a fox and she can turn her head 365°(lol) ..360°???

28”tall (other reports say they are adult size…changling?) coat and hat
One form of the Pookah takes the form of a demon dog whose job it is to guard the fairy fort. Sometimes seen or not. Supposedly has eyes that burn like fire.

How to Protect yourself from the fairies folk…

A

Avoidance. Don’t talk about them. Don’t look for them and avoid the times when they are Most prevalent: May Day and Halloween that’s when the fairies are moving…(the seasons change..transition between autumn and winter. Winter and spring. Refer to them as the ‘wee folk’ or the ‘arderkraut’ (?) but not directly as fairies.
