Based on harp at Trinity College. Brine blue harp

Strongbow was a Norman (now England) Chieftain.

The Irish chieftain ‘married’ into the normans. He invited Strongbow in.

Marriage on a battlefield. Wasn’t really.
Symbolizes England’s 1st steps into Ireland. Epha’s father trying to get the edge on his rivals.
England (the Normans actually) ruled Ireland for 800yrs
Strongbow is standing on a Celtic cross. Artists is stirring up feelings for the hope of homerule.

Catholic and Protestant sides depicted.

In Derry there is a mural called ‘the Hands Across the Divide’ peace to youngsters one from the Nationalist side one from the Unionist side reaching out to one another.
