what is situational context
situational context refers to the extralinguistic circumstances that influence language use, including field, tenor, laguage mode, setting and text type.
what is the field
refers to a context or subject matter, our language choices will vary.
what is tenor
refers to the relationship between participants in a language activity and relates especially to the level of formalitiy they adopt.
what is the mode
refers to a medium of communication ( whether it is spoken , written, signed)

is the non-lingusitic situation in which interactions take place

is a strench of spoken or written setences that holds together and has a definable communicative function.

what are paralinguistic features
features of speech that help to distinguish it from writing. these are the elements of the spoke word that are hard to tanscribe, even use in the IPA. As such we need special symbols in order to transcibe them in written form.

such as coughs, laughter and whispering can add meaning to a conversation. for example, use coughing while speaking in order to convey sarcasm. laughter with speech to display humour
non-verbal communication
such as body langauge, gaze and gesture can also add to a convo,for instance shrugging the shoulders can indicate not nwoing the answer and rolling eyes can indicate annoyance.
