Q

Lack of Media Freedom

A

Venezuela: Under Chavez, Newspapers were not given the access to enough dollars to purchase paper, as the government restricts the flux of dollars through currency exchange control.

Venezuela: Media owners rebelled against the mandate, as a result he used the Supreme Court to impose fines of millions of dollars. The near annihilation of the press is one of the many reasons for the discontent & unstable climate of Venezuela today.
