What is the locus of control?
It is a theory by Rotter. There are 2 personality types, one with an internal locus of control and another with an external locus of control.
Explain the internal locus of control
Someone with an internal locus of control tends to believe they are personally responsible for events that happen in their lives and are less likely to be influenced by others.
Explain the external locus of control
They are more likely to blame outside or external factors and believe their actions are widely beyond their control
What is the difference in thought between internal and external locus’ of control in terms of failing a test?
INTERNAL: “Darn, I should have revised more”
EXTERNAL: “The questions were written badly”
