People who have an unbalanced diet are called malnourished. Malnourished people can be fat or thin.
What can eating to much lead to?
Eating to much can lead to obesity. For example, to much carbohydrates or fats in your diet can lead to obesity.

Obesity is more common in developed countries
What can also lead to obesity?
Hormonal problems can also lead to obesity. However, this is usually caused by a bad diet, overeating or lack of exercise.

Our health is affected by having an unbalanced diet.

Obesity can cause a number of health problems:
- Arthritis (inflammation of the joints)
- Type 2 diabetes (unable to control blood sugar level)
- High blood pressure
- Heart Problems
- Some types of cancer (Pancreas, Kidney and esophagus)

To much saturated fats can increase our blood cholesterol.
What can eating to much salt cause?
Eating to much salt can cause high blood pressure and heart problems.
What do people suffer from developing countries?
People suffer from a lack of food in developing countries.

The effects of malnutrition vary on the foods missing
from the diet.
What are the effects of malnutrition?
The effects of malnutrition are:
- Slow growth in children
- Extreme Tiredness (fatigue)
- Poor resistance to infection
- Irregular Periods (In Women)
What causes Deficiency Diseases?
Lack of minerals and vitamins cause deficiency diseases.
For example, lack of vitamins C can cause scurvy.
What problems can deficiency diseases cause?
Deficiency Diseases can cause problems with the skin,
joints and gum.
