Explain the differences between hunger, satiety and appetite.

A

Hunger is the feeling of emptiness, weakness or pain caused by lack of food. Hunger is controlled by the hypothalamus gland in the brain.
Appetite is the desire for food even when the body is not hungry. It can be triggered by the sight, smell or mention of food.
Satiety is the feeling of fullness that comes through eating adequate amours of food.
