explain herzberg dual factor theory
Herzberg’s view is that managers should seek to motivate people by giving them opportunities for achievement and they should recognize and celebrate improvement
job satisfaction is a key factor leading to motivation
motivation factors - achievement, recognition, responsibility, promotion - if these are present will lead to motivation
hygiene factors - salary, working condition, company policy, if present do not lead to motivation but if absent lead to dissatisfaction
explain lockes goal setting theory
goal setting theory is directly linked to motivation and task performance. the willingness to work towards a goal is a key factor in influencing performance the effectiveness is dependent towards - clarity challenge commitment feedback task complexity

expectancy theory believes that employs will be motivated to behave in a set manner based upon what they believe the outcome will be.
