No change
- Business process fits the system process. Change only within single activities/tasks and their resources.
- Example: task automation

Incremental change
- System process is ideal and the business process is close to it. Change done to relationships between tasks.
- Example: Run tasks in parallel

Radical change
- System process is ideal and business process is not ideal. Change tasks, resources and their relationships. Can also change the result/goal of the process.
- Sometimes referred to as business process reengineering (BPR)
