Or an entity which maintains its existence through the mutual interaction of its parts.

Or a group of interacting, interrelated, and interdependent components that form a complex and unified whole

What are the two driving forces and trends leading to a world in transition?

  1. Growth of population and activities, exploration of natural resources. Population changes giving impacts on land scapes.
  2. A world center in the exploration of natural resources (e.g. forestry, cattle breeding, mining) in transition to a world that explores regional amenities (e.g. climate, landscape, open spaces, independency) Landscape that sustains a livelihood (e.g. mining or dense residential landscape) in transition to a world that offers a lifestyle (e.g. natural areas for leisure and sports, urban Diversity)
