- Pull ring disengaged from it’s slip on the striker housing
- A firm twist of the pin in a specific direction
- Pulling of the pull pin
What is the operation of the F1 Gren?
- Removal of the safety pin allows the fly off lever to separate due to spring tension of the striker
- Striker will strike the M42 percussion primer
- Primer ignites and produces flame and heat to the delay composition
- The delay composition burns for 5 seconds (approx) then functions the detonator
- Detonation wave passes onto the booster pellet which initiates the main charge
