Ezymes Flashcards
What are enzymes?
BIOLOGICALCATALYST THAT INCREASES THE RATE OF REACTION BY LOWERING THE ACTIVATION ENERGY
Examples of metabolic chemical reactions
Anabolic and
What actors effect enzymes and why
Temperature low temp- this does not denatue the enzyme- molecules have less kinetic energy this means that there are less successful collisions which means there is no enzyme substate comlexs being formed.
Too High temp- molecules have more kinetic energy so bonds will break, the active site i no longer complimentary to specific sustrate- enyme substrate complexes are not formed.
pH levels-
Concentration of the enzme
Substrate concentration- increase in molecules= incrase in successful collisions= more enzyme substrate complexes are formed.
Intracellular examples
Catalayse
Etracellular examples
Amalayse and trypsin
Why are enzymes specific/
They have a complementary active site to the substrate.
What are the two types of inhibitors?
Competitive
Non- competitive
