(usually staphylococcal)
Entropion
In-turning of the eyelids
Ectropion
Out-turning of the eyelids
Chalazion

Retention cyst of Meibomian gland
How does Chalazion present? Describe management
Firm painless lump in eyelid

Some require surgical drainage

External (Hordeolum externum)
Internal (Hordeolum internum)
What is an external stye?
infection of the glands of Zeis (sebum producing) or glands of Moll (sweat glands).
At lid margin
What is an internal stye?
infection of the Meibomian glands.
May leave a residual chalazion
Describe presentation of styes
Painful, erythematous, tender pus-filled nodule
Spontaneous perforation + purulent discharge after a few days
Describe management of styes
Most self-limiting + resolve spontaneously
Hot compresses + analgesia.
Topical abx if associated conjunctivitis
