What is the pupil?
The opening in the middle of the eye where light passes

Coloured ring at the front of eye which controls light entering the eye

Produces tears to lubricate the eyes

Watery, jelly like fluid which shape and nourish the eyes
What is the conjunctiva?
Membrane that protects the cornea
What is the cornea?
Light rays that pass through the retina
What is the retina?
Lining of the eye; it contains light sensitive cells called rods and cones
What is the macula?
High concentration of photoreceptor cells; detect light and sends signals to the brain
What is the optic nerve?
Nerve cells that exit the eye
What is the ciliary muscle?
Enables the lens to change shape for focusing
What is the suspensory ligament?
It attaches the lens to the ciliary muscle
What is the lens?
It focuses the light
