What happens to your pupil when you are in a dark room?
Pupil becomes larger - it allows more light to enter
What happens to your pupil when you are in a bright room?
Pupil becomes smaller - reduces amount of light entering the eye and also protecting it
Cornea function
Lets light into the eye and focuses on the light rays
Iris (coloured part of the eye) function
Controls the size of the pupil

Focus the light rays onto the back of the eye
What is a key feature of the lens
Can change its shape which allows us to focus on distant / near objects (accomodation)

Contains receptor cells for light which detects light intensity and light colour

Tough outer structure that protects the eye

Carries impulses from the brain from the retina

Contracts to change the shape of the lens

Holds the lens in place
