Extras Flashcards
What is the embryologic origin of:

What is panhypogammaglobulinemia?
Low levels of IgG…can lead to bronchiectasis
What is Loeffler’s syndrome?
?Eosinophillic pneumonia? Resolves in about a month, and may refer to only infectious eosinophillic pneumonia.
In what disease processes would nodules, septal lines, reticular pattern and airspace consolidation be seen?
NODULES are also seen in: silicosis, sarcoidosis, miliary TB, metastatic cancer, septic emboli, and Wegener’s disease.
SEPTAL LINES are seen in: interstitial edema and lymphangitic carcinomatosis.
RETICULAR PATTERN is seen in: interstitial edema and Pulmonary fibrosis (caused by idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, asbestosis, etc.)
AIRSPACE CONSOLIDATION is seen in: pneumonia, edema, hemorrhage, lymphoma, bronchioalveolar carcinoma, alveolar proteinosis.
Physical examination shows bilateral dullness at each lung base, bronchial breathing and diffuse crackles is more characteristic of pleural effusion or consolidation?
Consolidation- pleural effusion would have decreased breath sounds, whereas consolidation will have increased breath sounds
PTT target, and INR target for PE
PTT : 1.5-2.5 times baseline
INR 2?
Does a normal V/Q scan rule out PE? Does a normal pulmonary angiogram rule out PE?
Pretty much.
How long does a PE take to resolve once on anticoagulants?
Weeks.
