A
- series of experiments based on what really motivated a worker? - initially thought working conditions (lighting, heating rest periods etc.) were main motivators
- Came to the conclusion that teamwork, and work life control are bigger motivators

- Hygiene factors (Factors that could potentially cause dissatisfaction to a worker like working conditions, relationships, salary etc.
- Motivators (Factors that lead to job satisfaction such as achievement, recognition and challenge) non-financial motivators such as job design, job enlargement, empowerment.
