ARROW
A - airworthiness certificate - valid while aircraft is airworthy - no major alterations
R - Registration - federal - 7 years (was 3) - state - 1 year
R - radio license - need to leave the united states - 10 years
O- operating limitations (section 2 of poh)
W- weight and balance (section 6 of poh)
AAVIATE
A- AD’s - emergency vs normal - one time vs reoccuring - issued by FAA - must be complied with.
A- annual - every 12 calender months - can substitute a 100 hour if 100 hours not flown in past year - need a special flight permit if not have one done
V - VOR - technically only need IFR - VOR check in past 30 days
I - 100 hour - can exceed 100 hours by 10 hours if flying to mechanic - after that need special flight permit - only need if plane is used for compensation or hir - or flight instruction plane provided by instructor
A - altimeter/ pitot system inspection - 24 calender months - need to operate in controlled airspece uner ifr rules
T - transponder - 24 calender months - needs tested and inspected by mechanic
E - ELT - every 12 calenender months - check it the first 5 minues fo the hour on 121.5
E - ELT battery - half life of battery or 1 hour of consecutive use
ATOMATOFLAMES
A - anti-collision light
T - tachometer for every engine
O - oil pressure gauge for each engine
M - manifold pressure gauge for each complex engine (constant speed prop)
A - airspeed indicator
T - temperature gauge for each liquid cooled engine
O - oil temperature gauge for each air- cooled engine
F - fuel gage for each tank
L - landing gear position indicator - for retractable gear
A - altimeter
M - magnetic compass
E - emergency locator transmitter
S - seatbelts
FLAPS
F - fuses (circuit breakers)
L - landing light - only for hire
A - anti collision lights
P - position lights
S - source of electricity for all installed electrical and radio equipment (alternator)
