Used for Internal wind. Stirs from liver and kidneys, yin xu of Lv/ki, or ascendant liver yang, blood xu and high fevers. Ha, dizziness, blurred vision, tinnitus, irritable, vomitting, paplitations with anxiety, muscle twitch. Most are animal products, many are cold, some are warm and drying.
Gou teng
tx headaches, dizziness, vertigo, often used with tian ma, sweet and cold, used to tx heat induced wind, qi level herb, clears and drains, good for externally contracted w/heat
Tian ma
tx headache, dizziness, vertigo, used with gou teng, sweet and warm and dry, used for wind cold with phlegm/dampness
Ling yang jiao
used with gou teng to calm liver and ext wind,both useful for tremors, convulsions, due to intense heat, Ling yang jiao enters blood level and strongly resolves toxicity, also used for heat in blood
Shi Jue ming
focus entirely on liver, heavy, clearing action,
Ci Ji li
light weight, focus entirely on liver, focus on expelling wind and dredging the liver qi to free constraint.
Dai zhi shi
heavy like shi jue ming, suppress and direct rebellious qi down, while cooling liver. s/s as belching, vomitt, hiccup, acute wheeze
Di Long
spasms, convulsions from heat,opens and penetrates, tx wheeze and painful obstruction
Quan xie
scorpio, dispell wind and stop spasm, acrid and neutral
Bai jiang can
bombyx batryticatus, dispell wind stop spasm, phlegm heat,
Wu gong
scolopendra, dispel wind stop spasm, all 3 together tx severe spasms, acrid and warm, used for wind cold,
