When there are no more of a species left in the world, they are extinct.

A
Fossils show that other animals existed.

A
- changes to the organism’s environment
- destruction of habitat
- outbreak of a new disease
- introduction of new predators and competitors

How can we prevent extinction?
A
Seed banks-dried seeds of plants are stored at low temperatures
pollen banks-pollen grains are stored
tissue banks-buds and other cells from plants are stored.
