Extinction Flashcards
What is Meant by the term “stimulus Control”
control acquired because presence/absence of stimulus is associated w/ a particular consequence
What is( S^D) ?
Discriminative Stimulus - that precedes behavior and indicates consequences- in the presence B is likely to produce a reinforcer.
What is S^(triangle) ?
Discrimination- B is likely to produce extinction.
utilizes “differential reinforcement” to establish a “discrimination
Discrimination
is controlled by actual features of the stimuli (e.g., 1 inch square; green light)
Absolute B
is controlled by the difference between stimuli (e.g., smaller square; greener light); relative properties (established via simultaneous discriminations)
Relative: Behavior
Similar responding in the presence of different antecedent stimuli
Stimulus Generalization
Arrange Sr for generalization
Teach skills that will be reinforced naturally outside of training
Incorporate multiple stimulus exemplars into training
How to promote generalization
