What is homogenisation?
The process of making things uniform or similar.
What is globalisation?
The process by which the world is becoming increasingly interconnected due to massively increased rates of trade and cultural exchange.
What is glocalisation?
A type of business that is distributed globally, but adjusted to meet local needs as well.
What is a clone town?
A town where the high street or other major shopping areas are significantly dominated by chain stores.
What is placelessness according to Relph?
‘Locations and structures that do not reflect the unique or local ways of their immediate surroundings’ - Relph (1976).
What is localisation?
The process making something local in character or restricting it to a particular place.

What is a characteristic of globalisation?
The increased production of goods and services majorly by Multinational Corporations who produce and trade goods and services in many different countries.
Why do multinational corporations adapt their products to cater towards local tastes and laws?
To maximise global sales (cater to people with a strong sense of place).
Give and example of a company who has successfully carried out glocalisation.
- Mcdonalds has restaurants in over 100 different countries and has diversified dependant upon the local market, e.g Mcspaghetti.
