Poor housing-inadequate space= nowhere to work+over crowded house- hard for child to concentrate= low achievement

Colleges let their students use the facilities after college times so they can do hmk or revise in a quiet area

Poorer homes-lower intake on vitamins+minerals= poor nutrition= weakens immune system so child is weak and hungry and unable to concentrate or will miss school because they’re ill

Schools help overcome this problem by free school meals and giving a bursary
MD-how does finances after WC students achievement in education?
Low income- parents can’t afford to buy things that’ll benefit child’s education e.g. textbooks to develop their skills unlike WC children. WC parents also can’t afford children’s clothes which leads to bullying= not coming into school

WC students put off applying for uni as they believe they won’t be able to afford to be in debt+wouldn’t be able to afford living at uni e.g. food so they don’t bother to apply

Unis now have support systems in place to help WC students to afford living at uni e.g. first person in ur generation to go to uni, if ur parents earn under a certain wage ect
