Informational social influence (ISI)
A
- The desire to be right
- not sure how to behave and don’t have adequate information to make the right decision
- They look at how others are behaving and do the same
- internalisation
- situations that are new to a person or there is some ambiguity

normative social influence
A
The desire to be liked/wanting to fit in
- A person conforms because they need to be accepted by a social group
- acceptance/avoid rejection
- compliance/ identification
- E.g. feeling pressured to smoke because friends are smoking
