A
  • when we look to the majority for info. as we are unsure about the way to behave; it is about who has the better information between you & the group
  • conformity is due to genuinely believing the majority is right & therefore also wanting to be right
  • cognitive process
  • most likely to occur in situations that are new to a person + in situations where quick decisions have to be made + when a person / group is regarded as more of an expert
