Experiment 3: Limiting Reagent of Solutions Flashcards
1
Q
Purpose of Experiment 3
A
To determine how changing the amounts of reactants affect how much product is produced(limiting reagent)
2
Q
Precipitate
A
Insoluble Solid
3
Q
Theoretical Yield
A
Maximum amount of Product that could be made (never achievable)
4
Q
Actual Yield
A
Actual amount of product produced from the reaction
5
Q
Percent Yield
A
The percentage of the theoretical amount of product that is actually produced
6
Q
Procedure: Precipitate
A
Create the reaction between the compounds with varying amound of both and identify which has the most precipitate
7
Q
Procedure: Making Chalk
A
- Weigh out filter paper before filtration
- Depending on how much CaCl2 is in the solution add the appropriate amount of sodium carbonate
- Fold filtration paper and start filtrating the solution
- Weigh out filtration paper and determine limiting reagent
8
Q
Molarity
A
Moles/Liters
