Tell me your experience in dermatopathology

I have concentrated on dermatopathology since completing Part 2, with regular attendance and presentation at Skin MDT meetings, attending dermatology clinics and combined clinics, attending dermatopathology advanced courses and conferences, RSM clinicopathological meetings, and independently signing out skin surgicals.

Tell me about your experience in uropathology

Answer 2

I trained at Southmead Hospital in Bristol which is a tertiary referral centre. I became familiar with cut-up and reporting of cystectomies, prostatectomies, kidney resections and penile resections, as well as TRUS biopsies and TURBTs. I also saw a fair bit of urology during my time at DGH hospitals. More recently at Imperial, I have been reporting resection specimens semi-independently, whereby I have cut-up and reported cases, shown the supervising consultant the critical slides that determines tumour grade, stage, lymph node status etc, and then sign out the report independently. I have also attended and previously presented at urology MDTs.

Tell me about your experience in autopsy practise

Answer 3

I have performed over 100 autopsies during my training.

I have attended the Manchester Autopsy Pathology course, BDIAP autopsy days, and attended inquests.

Where do you see yourself in 5/10 years time

Answer 4

I plan to be practising in dermatopathology, and because I have a special interest in cutaneous lymphomas I hope to have gained consultant experience in haematopathology as well. I see myself building strong departmental links with Latin America and China in international collaboration projects in research and training. I see myself involved in delivering the undergraduate pathology curriculum and heavily involved in ST training and welfare. I hope very much to be working harmoniously and happily with all my colleagues and have built genuine and lasting friendships with them.
