Be alert for any sudden changes in residents behavior or physical condition
Check with nurse if you have questions about safety regarding food. No over the counter drugs are allowed.

Keep voice low, but audible
Face the resident you are speaking to and maintain eye contact. Try to be in the same level
Always knock before entering a residents room and introduce yourself
Address them using their last name unless requested by them to do otherwise
Be courteous, friendly, patient, and a good listener
Maintain emotions. If not leave the room
Ask the resident for permissions before sitting in a chair or the edge of the bed
Do not lie of the bed
Never promise what you cannot deliver
Welcome family and guests
Report complaints voiced by residents and tell residents that you have to do so
Keep your sense of humor and encourage the same in other.
