What was Trump’s Executive Order 13, 795, and what consequences did it have on oil drilling?
“On April 28, 2017, President Trump signed Executive Order 13,795 on “Implementing an America-First Offshore Energy Strategy.” It directs federal agencies to promote offshore oil drilling in the outer continental shelf off Alaska, in the Gulf of Mexico, and in the Atlantic. It also directs the Secretary of Interior to reconsider the well control rule adopted by the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement, one of the few significant post-Deepwater Horizon regulations.
