Commander in Chief: head of the military
Chief Legislator: president is part of the lawmaking process (sign or veto bills)
Director of Foreign Policy: meets with world leaders, make treaties, appoint ambassadors
Chief Executive: head of the executive branch, carry out laws, pass executive orders, appoint officials
Economic Guardian: sets budget every year with Congress
Head of Political Party: support/endorse candidates from his party

A

-Bully Pulpit: “large audience” to share out his opinions/policies
Ex: Social media
-Executive Order: pass policy
Avoid Congress not passing the law, faster
- War Powers Act: intended to limit the president’s power of Commander in Chief
Congress must authorize within 60 days
-Executive Privilege: president does not have to share information
-Executive Agreement: makes an agreement with another country
Majority from both the House and the Senate (easier)
-Signing Statements: “comment section” president can provide his opinions while signing a bill into law
