Excretory System Flashcards
How does this body system work?
This system uses the different organs to release wastes from the body.
How do the lungs excrete waste?
The lungs take in oxygen and they excrete carbon dioxide.
How does the skin excrete waste?
The skin is the largest organ. it excretes perspiration, small amounts of urea, and heat.
Why is this body system important?
Without this system, waste would build up in the body and we would die.
What body parts work in the excretory system?
Parts include:
Lungs, skin, kidneys, bladder, ureters, liver.
How do the kidneys excrete waste?
The kidneys filter out wastes from the blood. The kidneys excrete urine and heat.
How does the skin work to help the body?
It excretes most of the body’s heat. It also gets rid of water, salt, and urea.
How does this body system work?
This system maintains homeostasis in our bodies by getting rid of excess wastes so that they do not build up in our body.
How do the kidneys, ureter, bladder, and uretha work?
These parts work together to filter out
wastes from the blood. Urine is
excreted. Urine is a mixture of urea, water, and some salts. Heat is excreted.
Why is the waste removal system so important?
Without it, wastes would build up in our body which would make us sick.
How do the lungs work to help the body?
Lungs: breathe in oxygen, we release carbon dioxide and small amounts of water and heat.
