What do you need to have to be the President?
35+ years of age
Natural-born citizen
Must have lived in the U.S. for at least 14 years
What does it mean to have the power to pardon?
The ability to pardon prisoners or someone who has committed a crime, forgiving an offense without a punishment.
What are executive orders?
Not a law but can carry weight of one
Something the president issues without consultation/permission from congress

Can be eliminated when president leaves
When do presidents use executive orders?
Directed towards agencies in the federal government
Sometimes exc. order might be used to help implement policies
What is impeachment?
A process that allows congress to bring charges of treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors against high-ranking civil officers.
What is the process of impeachment?
House votes, Senate conducts trial, 2/3 majority vote for removal
