Location measured from a landmark Contour - regular/irregular Colour of overlying skin - erythematous/pigmented Abnormalities in overlying skin Abnormal vessels

A
Surface - smooth/rough/irregular Shape Tenderness Size Temperature Cough impulse? Consistency Compressible? Fluctuant? Pulsatile/expansile? Palpable thrill?

A
Skin tethering - pick up a fold of overlying skin
Tethering to deeper structures
Tethering to muscles and tendons - use the relevant muscle
