Pulmonary fibrosis

Stridor indications
Croup, trachea infection, epiglottis, problems with vocal chords, foreign body
What is stridor
Harsh croaking sound during inspiration, usually because something is stuck in the upper airway
Wheeze description
High-pitched whistling noise during inspiration or expiration, usually a sign of airway narrowing
Indications of a wheeze
Asthma, allergies, bronchitis, bronchiolitis, emphysema, epiglottitis, pneumonia, heart failure, RSV
Bronchial breath sounds description
Harsh and poor, there is an audible gap between inspiration and expiration. Sounds like blowing through a hollow tube. Sounds normally heard from the trachea in a healthy person.
Indications of bronchial breath sounds
Consolidation, pleural effusion, collapsed lung, localised fibrosis
Squeaking breath sounds
Viral respiratory illness
Rubbing sound
Inflammation of pleura
Where to look for oedema
Legs and sacrum
What does a bounding pulse indicate
Co2 retention
Indications of clubbing
Interstitial Lung disease (PF, sarcoidosis) cancer, CF, bronchiectasis
Enlarged lymph nodes
Cancer, infection, sarcoidosis
