Committee of the Whole
When the entire House of Representatives temporarily changes to a committee so that they can discuss and mark up proposed bills
Privileges and Immunities Clause
A clause that says that you can’t be unreasonably discriminated against in a State that isn’t your home State
Right of Privacy
Not originally in the constitution. It is derived from the 1st Amendment

Ordinance Power
The president can give a directive to someone that works for him and fully expect it to be carried out
Pre-clearance
If a State wants to change anything about their voting process, it has to be submitted to the Justice department
Brady Bill
A bill that was passed to require States to have a waiting period for people buying guns
Executive agreement
An informal agreement between the president and a leader of a foreign country. It doesn’t have to be approved by Congress, and isn’t treated as international law
War Powers Act
Congress tried to limit the President’s military power. This act required the president to tell congress of any military activity, and congress could cancel it after 60 days if they wanted to
Original jurisdiction
The court that heard the case first has original jurisdiction
