Must be planned, recorded appropriately and reflected upon.
Must make animal welfare our first priority (stated in declaration upon registration).

What are the stages of the disciplinary procedure?
Stage 1 - investigation and assessment
Stage 2 - preliminary investigation committee
Stage 3 - disciplinary committee
What happens at each stage of the disciplinary procedure?
Stage 1 - case manager signed to get info. Make decision based on fitness to practice.
Stage 2 - Investigation committee meet to assess fitness to practice. Consider mitigating circumstances (CPD….).
Stage 3 - Public hearing, suspension/removal from register.
Negligence - examples:
Failure to take care of something…
Burning injuries etc…
Misconduct - examples:
Poor professional conduct and improper behaviour
Influence of drugs and or alcohol at work.
What are the protected characteristics?
Age, disability, gender reassignment, ethnicity, religion or beliefs, sex, sexual orientation, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity.
How can we help client with euthanasia?
dedicated room, low noise level, sincerity and empathy, take payment prior, don’t rush client, tissues, body language and tone of voice.
